Today, 1/30, we saw our boy's full face for the first time. Until now he has always had tape on his face, covering at least one cheek. What a tremendous joy to finally see this face.
Adin has made huge strides in transitioning to eating orally (versus being fed through the feeding tube). Here is a video and a photo of Adin taking a bottle.
Today was a big day for Adin. He was moved into an open crib (see posting below), he weighs 3 lbs. 11.8 oz., and...he is being moved out of the ICN into the transitional nursery-- where they send babies who are on the path towards heading home! Here is Adin, sleeping in his new open crib.
Today Adin was moved out of his isolette into an open crib! This means that Adin is now able to maintain his body temperature. In this photo you can see his new bed (he's in there--all bundled up). His old isolette is right behind him.
Thankfully, our little boy is doing great. He is even beginning to wear clothes! This is his first outfit. The size is preemie, but it is still too big on him. Slowly, slowly...
Today, Adin had a great day. In the morning he had his nasal canula removed (which was a tube that delivered air into his nostrils). Now, he is breathing free! We are so thankful for all of these steps. Adin is super tough. Soon, they will start transitioning him into an open crib.
Here is Adin ready for his Pidyon HaBen in the ICN. He was so awake and aware throughout the ceremony. Thanks to Ezra the Kohen for allowing us to redeem our son.
The proud Ema and Abba with their SLB (sweet little boy). The three keys to life in the ICN are shown in the background: water, Purell, and coffee (for Jordan).
